Art on Main

The Jenks Downtown District will be transformed into a cultural arts experience on Saturday, October 9 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm as thousands of participants gather to appreciate Oklahoma’s creative talent at Art on Main. This signature art show seeks to create access to a broad array of arts experiences, nurture the development and understanding of diverse art forms and cultures and encourage the expanding depth and breadth of cultural life in Oklahoma. This event recently was awarded Oklahoma Community Institute’s “Outstanding Community Improvement Initiative.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to view the beauty of human expression through a variety of mediums, such as drawing, glass, jewelry, mixed media, oil, watercolor, fiber, pottery, photography, sculpture, metal smith and wood carving. Integrated within the hundred artists, Oklahoma wineries will be offering samples.

Oklahoma musician Mary Cogan will be performing at this year’s event, appearing on the PSO stage, located at the East end of Art on Main. Cogan’s catalog includes blues, country and rock.

A grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council enabled Art on Main to secure Cogan for the event.

Art on Main is free to the public through the assistance of community sponsors and a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts. Presenting sponsor is Public Service Company of Oklahoma and premier sponsors include Arvest Bank, AT&T, BancFirst, New Hope Health Inc, Tulsa Oilers and Tulsa Teachers Credit Union. The event is hosted by the Jenks Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation.
