With more than 100 exhibits, the Oklahoma Aquarium is a must-see for anyone coming to Oklahoma
In 2013, the Oklahoma Aquarium celebrated its ten-year anniversary with a guest appearance by renowned conservationist Jean Michel-Cousteau, son of Jacques Cousteau.
Since its opening, the Oklahoma Aquarium has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
The largest exhibit at the aquarium is the Siegfried Families Shark Adventure, featuring a nearly 500,000-gallon tank, home to the largest bull sharks in captivity in addition to lemon sharks, tiger sharks and nurse sharks.
The exhibit features a domed walk-through tunnel for visitors to fully immerse themselves into the shark adventure.
The aquarium is in the final stages of completing a sea turtle exhibit, which is destined to become a popular attraction.
For the adventurous child, the AEP-PSO Extreme Amazon exhibit features crawl-through tunnels and pop-up spots for the young adventurers to explore the iguanas and exotic fish.
The aquarium is also available for private use, with banquet space for corporate parties, weddings and other events. In fact, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin held a pre-Inaugural Ball at the Oklahoma Aquarium in 2011.
