The Jenks Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of Heather Turner, MBA as the organization’s new president and CEO.
Turner, a local entrepreneur, author and speaker, will assume her new role on Oct. 26.
“I’m thrilled to join forces with our city, school and business leaders to build an even brighter tomorrow for the community we all cherish,” Turner said. “I love this city and I’m excited to invest intentionally in the growth of the businesses we serve through the Jenks Chamber.”
Chamber board chair Kent Clark praised Turner for her experience and her work in Jenks.
“Heather brings a unique skill set to the chamber,” he said. “Her business experience, her education and her leadership and involvement with the Jenks Chamber make her a great fit for our organization.”
Clark added the search committee and board of directors were “very confident in Heather’s ability to lead the chamber and continue on our track record of success.”
Turner earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tulsa and her MBA from Oklahoma State University. She has also obtained a certificate in Nonprofit Management from OSU and is a graduate of Leadership Jenks.
She has served in numerous roles in the community including as a board member and chair of the Jenks Chamber’s board of directors, and in leadership roles for the Jenks Public Schools Foundation.
Turner and her husband of 20 years are the proud parents of two teenage sons. They also have two Golden Retrievers and a Great Pyrenees.
In this role, Turner will be responsible for overseeing the operations, budget and staff of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce as well as the chamber’s economic development efforts.
