The Jenks City Council voted last night to appoint Kelly Dunkerley to the at-large council seat formerly held by Vic Vreeland.

Dunkerley is a former chairman of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

“The entire chamber congratulates Kelly on his appointment,” Jenks Chamber President Josh Driskell said. “Kelly has been a tireless advocate for businesses and for Jenks in community and around the region.”

Dunkerley currently serves on the Jenks Planning Commission. In 2011, he was awarded the chamber’s Business Person of the Year Award.

He currently serves on the board of Junior Achievement.

He is a graduate of both Leadership Jenks and Leadership Tulsa.

Dunkerley will fill the remainder of the term. An election for a full, four-year term will be held in April 2013.
