Community Conversation with Senator James Lankford

The Oklahoma Aquarium is hosting US Senator James Lankford on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for a community conversation with the senator. It will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public.

Lankford was elected to the Senate in 2004. Prior to that, he served four years in the US House of Representatives for central Oklahoma.

Before his service in Congress, he served students and families for more than 20 years in ministry, including 15 years as the Director of Student Ministry for the Baptist Convention of Oklahoma and Director of the Falls Creek Youth Camp, the largest youth camp in the United States, with more than 51,000 individuals attending each summer.

Lankford lives in Oklahoma City with his wife Cindy. They have been married more than 27 years and have two daughters, Hannah and Jordan. He enjoys spending time with his family, working in his yard, and reading.

His committee assignments are the Senate Committee of Finance, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management, Senate Committee on Appropriations, and Senate Committee on Indian Affairs
