Shark Week at the Oklahoma Aquarium

Every week is Shark Week at the Oklahoma Aquarium, the home of the largest collection of bull sharks in an aquarium setting. That celebration of the apex ocean predator goes up a notch during the Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week. Here’s a list of the special activities:
Sunday 26th – 2:00 to 4:00 – Painting with Pinot’s Palette
This public class will be held at the Oklahoma Aquarium. The price of the class includes admission into the Aquarium, a 2 hour shark painting class and a behind-the-scenes tour of the shark exhibit. **There will be a cash bar on hand for beer/wine and other beverages. Pinot’s Palette will be Painting It Forward with this class and donating $15 from every seat sold to support the Oklahoma Aquarium.
Monday 27th – 1:15 – Behind-the-Scenes Shark Feed Tour
This premier tour allows you to walk to the top of the shark exhibit and watch as biologists feed our bull and nurse sharks. You can’t get any closer without getting in the water!
- Adults – $12, Youth – $10 plus general admission or membership.
- For safety reasons, tour not recommended for children under 5 years old.
- Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
- The tour includes a fair amount of walking and climbing stairs, so we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or strollers in the working areas.
- Sturdy, closed toe shoes are recommended for both your safety and comfort.
Tuesday 28th – 10:00 to 12:00 – Make and Take
This is playing with sharks the safe way! Join our educators to learn all about why sharks are so important while making a fun shark project you can swim home with to remember fun at the Aquarium during Shark Week.
Wednesday 29th – All Day – How do you measure up?
Are you a dwarf lantern shark or a whale shark? Come learn about the different shapes and sizes of the world’s sharks and see how you compare!
