There are seven candidates on today’s ballot, including a Sand Springs municipal judge, a west Tulsa school activist, two small-business owners, two Sand Springs city councilors and a field representative for Congressman Jim Bridenstine.

Today’s winner will not be the successor of Sen. Dan Newberry, but will be favored in the Nov. 14 general election.

Brian O’Hara, the field representative for Congressman Bridenstine, will be on the ballot today. O’Hara is a former Jenks city councilor and a business executive.

O’Hara has represented Bridenstine for five years and said that gave him a better understanding of SD 37. O’Hara stands for better state budgeting and open transfers between public schools.
