Jenks City Manager Mike Tinker has graduated from the 2012 Oklahoma Leadership Arts program.

Tinker graduated from the program at the Oklahoma Arts Council’s annual meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Oklahoma City.

Approximately 30 participants are selected for the program each year and attend four two-day sessions.

Topics covered during the program include how the arts can make a significant contribution to the local and state economies, how communities have developed arts programs and vibrant arts spaces to enhance quality of life and how the arts cultivate creativity, attracting and retaining a creative work force.

The City of Jenks recently added an arts component to the downtown Jenks antiques district.

The Jenks Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation is forming an Arts Advisory Council to assist in developing the Antiques and Arts District.
