The Jenks Kiwanis Club will sponsor a bicycle safety rodeo on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m to 12 p.m at the new Jenks high school parking area on First Street Between A and B Streets.
The event is for all students attending or living in Jenks or the Jenks school district. The event will be a non-competitive safety and educational event presented as part of the Kiwanis mission: “changing the world, one child and one community at a time”.
There will be a series of stations to test and teach skills and the understanding of basic safety including bike inspections, a ride through skills course, and how to safely dodge obstacles.
All participants will receive a favor bag and recognition for their efforts.
The event is sponsored by BancFirst and the Jenks America Kiwanis Club.
The Kiwanis Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Reasor’s Meeting Room at 7 a.m.
In addition to holding a fun event, the club hopes to increase community awareness and encourage club membership. For more information please contact KiwanisJenks@aol.com.
