The C-SPAN bus visited Jenks Monday to celebrate six student filmmarkers, including sophomore Olivia Hurd’s grand prize film entry in the networks’ annual Studentcam competition.
Hurd’s documentary, “Up to Our Necks” was her response to this year’s them “What’s the issue you most want candidates to discuss during the 2016 presidential campaign?”
The film addresses the federal budget.
She beat out more than 2,000 entries to win the grand prize.
Hurd won $5,000 and a trip to Washington D.C., and her film will be featured on C-SPAN.
