For 50 years, The Kirk has been known for its exceptional preschool program. This fall, the church will expand its preschool program to the Jenks area at their Kirk Crossing campus. Kirk Crossing is located at 11401 S. James Avenue (111th & Highway 75). “We are excited to expand this quality preschool program to those living in Jenks,” says Kirk executive director, Jera Holder.

Earlier this year, The Kirk hired a new preschool director, Ashley Strednak. With a Bachelors in Child Development, Strednak has a wealth of experience in early childhood education. She has served as a preschool teacher, assistant director, and center director. Strednak also has extensive experience writing curriculum for several schools in both Oklahoma and Arkansas. Under Strednak’s leadership, the preschool program will begin incorporating a new curriculum in the fall that will focus on the emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual stages of each individual child.

The Christ-centered education, provides challenging academic experiences within nurturing, secure classrooms. “We will introduce your children to skills that will encourage them to become critical thinkers and life-long learners,” said Strednak.

Additionally, Kirk Preschool is partnering with the University of Central Oklahoma to provide future early childhood professionals a chance to gain experience and perform field work. “This new partnership will expose Kirk Preschool students to the latest research in best practice and how to provide the most quality educational experience for God’s children,” says Strednak.

Kirk Preschool will also be offering new parent prayer groups, parent education classes, and family nights. “We look forward to the future of Kirk Preschool,” says Holder. “It will be an exciting journey of discovery and growth.” Kirk Preschool is open to children between the ages of two and PreK.
