Now is the time to begin spring cleaning and by doing so, help to provide jobs in our community through donating your unwanted clothes and household items to Goodwill.

Goodwill Industries of Tulsa has provided high quality job training and assistance in the area since the company was founded in Tulsa in 1927. When you donate to Goodwill, you assist in their mission to provide work opportunities, job training and support services for people with disabilities or other employment barriers.

Your donations provide wages for Goodwill employees at the retail stores and donation sites. They also help fund training programs offered to the community. The TulsaWORKS program, made possible through Goodwill offers job training, placement opportunities, and other employment essentials to allow for individuals who are living in poverty to be self-sufficient.

By investing in Goodwill through donating you are helping those in need and bettering their potential in the workforce. In the past year, Goodwill has placed almost 1,000 people who entered their work placement program into jobs.

The Goodwill Job Connection site located at Goodwill’s Southwest Boulevard facility provides job search and career advancement assistance as well as community support services. These offerings are free and are provided on a walk-in basis and assist in simplifying your job search. For information and hours call Goodwill Job Connection at 918-599-0067

David Oliver, President of Goodwill Industries Tulsa, has worked with the organization for the past 21 years and describes the organization as “a business with a heart” and said it provides opportunities to foster skills, which in return creates a better community.

Oliver hopes to see an increase in donations in the future and hopes to develop more ways to diversify their training programs.

Goodwill believes in commitment to their mission and the community. Everyday at Goodwill Industries of Tulsa staff and employees witness their mission come to life.
