Even as social media has seemingly overwhelmed traditional media as a means of sharing and spreading news, the old rules of media are still pertinent today for business owners.

Teri Bowers, the chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Aquarium and former television news anchor is scheduled to speak at the Jenks Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon on April 18.

Bowers joined the Aquarium staff in 2006 as their Communications Director. She currently serves on the boards of the Better Business Bureau, Green Country Marketing Association and the Jenks Chamber of Commerce. Bowers is a Leadership Tulsa Graduate and was a past chair of the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce Legislative Task Force On Regional Tourism.

Prior to her career at the Aquarium, Bowers spent 18 years in the television news field.

The luncheon will be held on April 18 at the Holiday Inn Express in Jenks at noon.

Cost to attend is $15 for Jenks Chamber members and $20 for non-members.

The deadline to RSVP is Monday, April 15 by 4 p.m.
